If I Were Told the Future: Test for Lesson 89

  1. The seven bowls of Revelation aim at punishing seven specific sins of unrepentant mankind. Which sin does the pouring out of the first bowl punish, by causing a malignant sore to strike men?
Forsaking God, the Light of the world.
    Despising the commandments of God.
Forsaking God, the Source of living water.
    Placing one's confidence in Babylon.

  2. The book of Revelation displays a mirror-like structure, in which its historical part (first section) corresponds with its eschatological part (second section). Now, in this mirror-like structure, which section of Revelation perfectly corresponds with the seven bowls of God's wrath?
The letters to the seven Churches.
    The seven seals.
    The seven trumpets.
The message of the three angels.

  3. While the seven trumpets of Revelation punished the oppressors of God's people throughout history, the seven bowls of Revelation will punish the rebellious nations at the end of the world. Now, what is the common target of both the second trumpet and the second bowl?
    The sea.
    The springs of water.
    The sun.
    The earth.

  4. The seven bowls of Revelation call to mind the plagues which struck Egypt, in the days of Moses. According to the book of Exodus, which plagues spared the people of God?
    Not any.
    All the plagues.
    The first seven plagues.
    The last seven plagues.

  5. Furthermore, the nature of the ten plagues of Egypt is also present in the seven bowls of Revelation. So the sixth bowl, by presenting three unclean spirits, reminds us of the following plagues of Egypt (check off all the right answers):
    The invasion of frogs.
    The invasion of lice.
    The invasion of locusts.
    The invation of flies.

  6. The account of the plagues in Egypt also shows God's patience towards rebellious men. According to the book of Exodus, God stopped calling Pharaoh to repentance, and finally left him to his delusion by hardening his heart, starting with...
    ... the third plague.
    ... the fifth plague.
    ... the seventh plague.
    ... the ninth plague.

  7. The seven bowls of Revelation also call to mind the promises to him who overcomes, in the letters to the seven Churches of Revelation. So, whereas the sun of the fourth bowl scorches rebellious men, the fourth letter promises what follows to the faithful believer:
    the tree of life.
    the morning star.
    the sun of righteousness.
    the star fallen from heaven.

  8. Also, to avoid being struck by the sixth bowl of Revelation, the promise to him who overcomes, in the letter to the sixth Church of Revelation will be very useful to us: «Because you have kept My command to , I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I come ! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your

  9. With the seven bowls of Revelation, God will reverse the work He did at Creation, in order to rebuild, afterwards, a new and perfect world. So, the fourth bowl strikes the sun, which reverses the work God did...
... on the second day of Creation.
... on the third day of Creation.
... on the fourth day of Creation.
... on the fifth day of Creation.

  10. Finally, when the pouring out of the seven bowls of Revelation is completed, one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls introduces the following scene, which will be the subject of our next lessons:
the destruction of Satan and his angels.
    the feast of the vultures.
    the last judgment.
the union of the Lamb of God and His bride.
