If I Were Told the Future: Test for Lesson 97

  1. According to the Second Epistle of Peter and the book of Revelation, where will God's people dwell forever?
On the earth, slightly improved by God.
    On a new earth.
    On the clouds of heaven.
The Word of God doesn't give any information about this subject.

  2. The book of Revelation tells us what God will do for His people, before the New Jerusalem is inaugurated: «And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more , nor , nor ; and there shall be no more , for the former things have passed away.»

  3. According to the book of Revelation, what will happen to the sea, after the Last Judgment?
It will be cleansed, and will surround the New Jerusalem.
It will become the lake of fire and brimstone.
It will remain soiled and polluted, here on earth.
    It will disappear forever.

  4. The prophet Isaiah describes the conditions that will prevail in the Kingdom of God: «The humble also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. For the terrible one is brought to nothing, the scornful one is consumed, and all who watch for iniquity...»
«... are suffering forever in hell.»
    «... are forgiven.»
«... are getting a second chance to repent.»
    «... are cut off.»

  5. Still describing the living conditions in the New Jerusalem, the book of Revelation announces wonderful news for God's people: «[God] will with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will with them and be their God. (...) His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His

  6. The Gospel according to John tells us that Jesus, once risen and glorified, was not immediately recognized by Mary. When did she recognize Him?
When He clasped her in His arms.
When He made a sign to her.
    When He performed a miracle.
    When He spoke to her.
We thus understand that God's redeemed people, although made incorruptible and immortal, will be able to recognize each other on the New Earth.

  7. In order to dispel our desire to spend eternity with God, Satan tries to make us believe that the elect will be like floating spirits, playing harps on the clouds... But the truth is shown by these words from Jesus after His resurrection, reported in the Gospel according to Luke: «Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a does not have and as you see I have.»

  8. In the following passage, the prophet Isaiah describes the most popular activity in the Kingdom of God: «The mountain of the Lord's house shall be established on the top of the mountains. (...) Many people shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; ...»
«... He will teach us His ways."»
«... He will invite us to His table."»
«... we will contemplate the greatness of His kingdom."»
«... we will rule over the nations."»

  9. According to the book of Isaiah, what will be the use of the Sabbath day, in the Kingdom of God?
It will be of no use, for the Sabbath has been abolished at the cross.
It will be of no use, for the Sabbath will be abolished at Jesus' return.
Although abolished, the Sabbath will remind us of the former things.
On each Sabbath, a living and sincere worship will be offered to God.

  10. In spite of our best efforts, we can't perfectly describe all the wonders awaiting the people of God on the new earth. The First Epistle of Paul to the Corinthians says: « has not seen, nor heard, nor have entered into the of man the things which God has prepared for those who Him.» But we can show our gratitude to God by renewing our covenant with Him, and by redoubling our efforts in order to bring as many people as possible to His salvation!
