If I Were Told the Future - Test 8

Parallels Between the Prophetic Books

In order to check your understanding and your progress in the study of the Word of God, we invite you to fill out this short test and return it to us. The correct answers will be sent back to you as soon as possible.

A mark of 70% or better will allow you to submit the test of Lesson 9. Upon the completion of the entire Bible course If I Were Told the Future, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

If I Were Told the Future: Test for Lesson 8

  1. The book of Daniel contains a historical section and a prophetic section. Among the following prophecies, check off all those that can be found in the book of Daniel:
The prophecy of the little horn.
The prophecy of the rider on a pale horse.
The prophecy of the ram and the goat.
The prophecy of the kings of North and South.

  2. The prophecies of the book of Daniel often describe the same events. Among the following list, indicate the element which can NOT be found in at least three prophecies of the book of Daniel:
A pompous and cunning king shall arise.
This pompous king shall persecute God’s people.
This king shall speak pompous words against God.
This pompous king shall finally repent of his sins.

  3. The structure of Matthew chapter 24 is exactly the same as that of the book of Revelation. Thus, both books have the following sections (check off all the right answers):
    The signs of the times.
    Tribulation and world-wide apostasy.
The return of Jesus and its effects on the world.
    Personal appeals to follow God.

  4. The book of Revelation displays an amazing structure which is very cleverly made. This literary architecture can be described as follows:
    a mirror-like organization.
    a zigzag-like organization.
    a star-shaped organization.
    a chequered organization.

  5. To demonstrate the links between the prophetic books, we compared Daniel chapter 12 and Revelation chapter 10. Both chapters contain all these common elements (check off all the right answers):
The vision of a being standing on the waters.
This being lifts up his right hand to heaven.
This being swears by Him who lives forever.
This being makes a statement about time.

  6. We then compared Daniel chapter 7 and Revelation chapter 13. Both chapters present a being who displays the following features (check off all the right answers):
    This being blasphemes against God.
This being reigns for 1260 years.
This being makes war against the saints.
    This being overcomes the saints.

  7. We have seen in our lesson that the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation describe the same sequence of events. Now, the book of Genesis explains the meaning of such prophetic repetitions: «The dream was doubled to Pharaoh ; it is because the thing is by God, and God will shortly bring it to

  8. The book of Revelation presents seven letters and seven seals which can be paralleled. Indeed, one of these letters says, «And I will kill her children with death,» and the corresponding seal describes the following scene, «Behold, a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him.» These are:
the second letter and second seal.
the third letter and third seal.
the fourth letter and fourth seal.
the sixth letter and sixth seal.

  9. The book of Revelation presents seven letters and seven seals which can be paralleled. The fifth letter and fifth seal describe a same object which will be given to all the faithful believers. What is that object?
    The crown of life.
    The morning star.
The fruit of the tree of life.
    The white robe.

  10. The Epistle of Paul to the Romans gives the following advice, «The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Let us therefore off the works of darkness, and let us on the armor of light.» Our next section, entitled «The », will provide us with everything we need to understand prophecy, and to prepare ourselves for the great conflict which will soon take place here on earth.
