If I Were Told the Future - Test 44

The Locusts from the Bottomless Pit

In order to check your understanding and your progress in the study of the Word of God, we invite you to fill out this short test and return it to us. The correct answers will be sent back to you as soon as possible.

A mark of 70% or better will allow you to submit the test of Lesson 45. Upon the completion of the entire Bible course If I Were Told the Future, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

If I Were Told the Future: Test for Lesson 44

  1. At the sound of the fifth trumpet of Revelation, the following events took place (please check off all the right answers):
Smoke arose out of the bottomless pit.
The sun and the air were darkened.
    Locusts came upon the earth.
Rebellious men repented of their sins.

  2. In the fifth trumpet of Revelation, what do the locusts coming out of the bottomless pit symbolize?
    The apostate Church.
    Satan’s angels.
A human attack against the apostate Church.
    A locust invasion, literally.

  3. The symbolism of the fifth trumpet indicates that God put an end to the activities of the apostate Church of the Middle Ages, in the same way that He did for the ancient city of Babylon, as reported by the prophet Jeremiah: «O you who dwell by many waters, abundant in treasures, your end has come, the measure of your covetousness. The Lord of hosts has sworn by Himself, “Surely I will fill you with , as with , and they shall lift up a shout you.”»

  4. In the fifth trumpet of Revelation, the locusts have a king named «Abaddon» and «Apollyon». What is the meaning of those two names?
    «Adversary of God.»
    «Darkness of the bottomless pit.»
    «Star fallen from heaven.»
    «Destruction, annihilation.»

  5. The locusts of the fifth trumpet of Revelation display all the following features, except one. Which one?
    Lions’ teeth.
    Eagles’ wings.
    Men’s faces.
    Scorpions’ tails.

  6. In the fifth trumpet of Revelation, the locusts’ attacks are aimed at:
    Satan and his angels.
the believers who remain faithful to God.
all the inhabitants of the earth.
the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

  7. Seeing the numerous abuses of the Middle Ages apostate Church, who was claiming to represent God on earth, peoples finally rebelled and dealt a severe blow to the Church. This revolt against the apostate Church, symbolized by the locusts’ attacks in the fifth trumpet of Revelation, took place during:
the French Revolution, at the end of the 18th century.
the Industrial Revolution, in the 19th century.
    World War I.
    World War II.

  8. Just as foretold in the fifth trumpet of Revelation, the apostate Church, accustomed to domination over the nations, was greatly tormented, from the end of the 18th century onward, by the rise of humanist concepts and theories marked by a total absence of the notion of God. Among these concepts and theories, we find (check off all the right answers):
    Charles Darwin’s evolutionism.
    materialism.
    Karl Marx’s communism.
    rationalism.

  9. The fifth trumpet of Revelation announces that the torments of the apostate Church would last years, from the year 1798, when France destroyed the Church’s political power, to the year , when the Council of Churches was founded, thus opening the way for the Church of Rome’s future efforts, from the Second Vatican Council onward, to unify all the religions of the world.

  10. The fifth trumpet of Revelation thus announces that the apostate Church would be severely tormented, but that it wouldn’t die. This prophecy is perfectly confirmed by another vision given to the apostle John, also reported in the book of Revelation: «I saw one of [the beast’s] heads as it were wounded to ; and his deadly wound was . And all the world after the beast.» This important prophecy will be the subject of a future lesson.
