In the heart of the prophecy of Daniel 8, as the disastrous work of the little horn is described, a question is asked, «How long?» The answer to this question presents a new prophetic period, «To days; then shall the be .» This prophetic period began in 457 B.C., and ended in A.D. 1844, the year when God’s judgment began in the heavenly sanctuary.
The little open book of Revelation chapter 10 first was as sweet as honey in the mouth, but then became bitter in the belly. God gave a special message to all the sincere Christians who were bitterly disappointed when they understood that they had not properly interpreted the content of the book of Daniel. This message invited them to study more deeply a specific subject. What is that subject?
The state of the dead.
The punishment of the wicked.
The sanctuary.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Under the Old Covenant, what was the purpose of the annual service of the sanctuary, performed at the end of the religious year?
Consecrating a new High Priest.
Celebrating the Passover.
Welcoming the new converts to Judaism.
Cleansing the sanctuary.
The book of Leviticus describes this annual service during which the sins of the truly repentant individuals were totally erased. This service, which foreshadowed the first part of God’s judgment, was taking place...
... on the Day of Atonement.
... on the Feast of Trumpets.
... on the Day of the Passover.
... on the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
Just as the earthly sanctuary, the heavenly sanctuary must also be purified. In his First Epistle , the apostle Peter explains the meaning of the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary: «For the time is come that must begin at the of God. And if it first begin at , what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?» Indeed, many people claim to be converted and to follow Christ, but this first part of the judgment will identify those whose conversion is genuine.
According to the Epistle of Paul to the Romans and the Second Epistle of Paul to the Corinthians, who will appear before the judgment seat of God?
Only those who refuse to repent and to be converted.
Only those whose conversion is not genuine and sincere.
Only those whose conversion is genuine and sincere.
All human beings.
The Epistle to the Hebrews confirms that «the Lord shall His people». Fortunately, this same epistle teaches us that Jesus Christ will be the Advocate of all those who accept Him as their Savior and Lord, thus granting them eternal life: «For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to in the presence of God for .»
In the book of Exodus, God clearly indicated to Moses what will happen to the believers whose conversion is not genuine and sincere: «Whoever has sinned against Me...»
«... I will forgive him on the Day of Judgment.»
«... I will blot him out of My book.»
«... I will punish him with everlasting sufferings.»
«... I will send My faithful people to teach him the truth.»
The First Epistle of Paul to the Corinthians tells us about the second part of God’s judgment, «Do you not know that the shall judge the ?» Indeed, a 1000-year period will follow the return of Jesus. During this period, God’s people will study the individual cases of the wicked, their responsibilities, their degree of guilt according to their thoughts, words, and deeds.
Finally, this passage of the book of Ecclesiastes is a good conclusion to our lesson about the 2300 days and the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary: «Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His , for this is the whole of man. For God shall bring every work into , with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.»
