If I Were Told the Future - Test 58

The Pure Woman

In order to check your understanding and your progress in the study of the Word of God, we invite you to fill out this short test and return it to us. The correct answers will be sent back to you as soon as possible.

A mark of 70% or better will allow you to submit the test of Lesson 59. Upon the completion of the entire Bible course If I Were Told the Future, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

If I Were Told the Future: Test for Lesson 58

  1. The prophetic Word often uses the symbol of a woman. Among the following statements, please check off all those that are correct:
In the Old Testament, a woman symbolizes the people of Israel.
In the New Testament, a woman symbolizes the Church.
When people are faithful to God, the symbol is a pure woman.
When people turn away from God, the symbol is an impure woman.

  2. In the book of Revelation, many expressions designate the people of God who remained faithful to Him in spite of the 1260-year persecution. Among these expressions, we find (check off all the right answers):
    «God’s bride.»
    «The Holy city.»
    «The Lamb’s wife.»
    «The Mother of God.»

  3. The book of Revelation chapter 12 describes the pure woman. All the following elements are included in this description, except one. Which one?
The woman is clothed with the sun.
The moon is under her feet.
She has a crown of seven stars.
She is pregnant and in labor.

  4. The pure woman of Revelation chapter 12 is clothed with the sun. The book of Isaiah explains the meaning of this bright garment: «[The Lord] has clothed me with the garments of , He has covered me with the robe of , (...) as a bride adorns herself with her This bright garment is therefore the perfect righteousness of Christ which covers the repentant sinner, opening the way to eternal life.

  5. The sun, moon, and twelve stars describing the pure woman of Revelation chapter 12, call to mind the dream of an Old Testament character. This dream confirms the fact that the pure woman symbolizes God’s people, that is, Israel or the Church. Who is this Old Testament character?
    Jacob.
    Joseph.
    Ezekiel.
    Daniel.

  6. All these characteristics describe the Child of the pure woman of Revelation chapter 12, except one. Which one?
    He performs miracles.
The great dragon tried to kill Him.
He was caught up to God.
He will rule the nations with a rod of iron.

  7. Revelation chapter 12 then indicates that «the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her Child as soon as He was born.» Just as foretold, at Jesus’ birth, and at the end of His ministry, Satan used a nation in order to destroy the Savior of men. What is that nation?
    Israel.
    Greece.
    Rome.
    Egypt.

  8. After his failure to destroy the Child, the dragon sought to kill the pure woman of Revelation chapter 12. The prophecy then says that «to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle.» These words mean that God’s people...
... won’t have to face any persecution.
... will be able to perform miracles.
... will travel around the world.
... will never be tested beyond their strength.

  9. How does the serpent try to destroy the pure woman described in Revelation chapter 12?
By spewing a flood of water.
By causing rocks to fall on her.
    By spitting out fire.
By opening the earth under her.

  10. Having also failed in his attempt to destroy the pure woman of Revelation chapter 12, what did the dragon do next? The prophetic Word answers, «And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the of her seed, which keep the of God, and have the of Jesus Christ.» This will be the subject of our next lesson.
