If I Were Told the Future: Test for Lesson 65

  1. The book of Daniel chapter 11 describes the work of the «king of the North». The description of this character perfectly corresponds to that of the little horn of Daniel chapters 7 and 8. The «king of the North» is therefore...
    ... king Antiochus IV Epiphanes.
    ... Roman emperor Nero.
    ... the United Nations Organization.
    ... the Papacy (papal Rome).

  2. Daniel chapter 11 announced that the Papacy would «seize the kingdom by intrigue». Just as foretold, the Papacy, to establish its authority over kings, forged documents, the «False », among which was the « of Constantine». This document aimed at proving that Roman emperor Constantine had officially bequeathed the city of Rome to Pope I and his successors.

  3. The book of Daniel chapter 11 says that during its reign, the Papacy would «stir up his power and his courage against the king of the South with a great army». Which historic event perfectly fulfilled this prophecy?
    The Inquisition against the «heretics».
    The Crusades on Jerusalem.
The institution of the worship of the Virgin Mary.
The deposition of kings opposed to the Papacy.

  4. Still describing the dark work of the Papacy, Daniel chapter 11 foretold, «He shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant.» Which historic event perfectly fulfilled this prophecy?
    The Inquisition against the «heretics».
    The Crusades on Jerusalem.
The institution of the worship of the Virgin Mary.
The deposition of kings opposed to the Papacy.

  5. Daniel chapter 11 then announced the terrible persecution the people of God would endure during the Middle Ages, because they refused to submit to the Papacy’s authority: «And they that among the people shall instruct . Yet they shall fall by the sword, and by , by , and by spoil, many days.»

  6. Daniel chapter 11 foretold what follows, concerning God’s faithful people persecuted by the Papacy during the Middle Ages: «Now when they shall fall, they shall be helped with a little help.» Among the following historic events, which ones contributed to lessen the persecution against God’s people? (Check off all the right answers.)
    The Chalcedonia Council.
The Reformation, which started in the 16th century.
    The St. Bartholomew massacre.
The discovery of the New World.

  7. Still describing the work of the Papacy, Daniel chapter 11 says, «A god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.» Who is this new «god» to whom the Papacy decided to offer a very rich and sumptuous worship?
    Jesus Christ.
    The Holy Spirit.
    The Virgin Mary.
    John the Baptist.

  8. Daniel chapter 11 announced that, at the time of the end, the Papacy would destroy «the king of the South». What is the identity of that «king of the South», at the time of the end?
    Egypt.
    Communism.
    God’s people.
    The European Union.

  9. Shortly before the return of Jesus Christ, people from all nations will respond to God’s final call to salvation, and will join the faithful remnant proclaiming God’s last message. In symbolic words, Daniel chapter 11 announces this last evangelical effort, foretelling that in the last days, as the Papacy once again attacks God’s faithful people, some «shall escape out of his hand». Where are these coming from, symbolizing people from all nations? (Check off all the right answers.)
    «Edom.»
    «Moab.»
    «Tyre.»
    «Ammon.»

  10. Daniel chapter 12 brings a happy conclusion to the prophecy of chapter 11 on the «king of the North». Among the following quotations, which ones are part of the hopeful message of Daniel chapter 12? (Check off all the right answers.)
«At that time shall Michael stand up.»
«Your people shall be delivered, every one that is found written in the Book.»
«They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament.»
«They that turn many to righteousness shall shine as the stars.»
