If I Were Told the Future - Test 71

The Mark of the Beast

In order to check your understanding and your progress in the study of the Word of God, we invite you to fill out this short test and return it to us. The correct answers will be sent back to you as soon as possible.

A mark of 70% or better will allow you to submit the test of Lesson 72. Upon the completion of the entire Bible course If I Were Told the Future, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

If I Were Told the Future: Test for Lesson 71

  1. Just like the seal of God, the mark of the beast is placed on men’s hand and forehead. In our preceding lesson, we identified the seal of God, among His Ten Commandments. Opposed to the seal of God, the mark of the beast will therefore be:
a code placed on all consumer goods.
an electronic microchip put on men’s hand and forehead.
a powerful computer controlling everybody’s life.
the observance of a false Sabbath, Sunday, as the day of rest.

  2. God’s final warning, reported in Revelation chapter 14, says, «If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His Then, we are told what we must do to avoid receiving the mark of the beast: «Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the of God, and the of Jesus.»

  3. Five of the eight New Testament passages mentioning the first day of the week are found in the Gospels. What do these five passages report?
The women’s visit to Jesus’ tomb.
    The celebration of Jesus’ resurrection.
    The abolition of the Sabbath.
The proclamation of Sunday as the new day of rest.

  4. As the Apostolic Church was growing, more and more Gentiles joined it, bringing with them some pagan customs which slowly mixed with the Christian form of worship. Among these customs was Sundaykeeping, which was aiming, in pagan religions, at...
... calming down the gods’ wrath.
    ... worshiping the sun.
    ... cursing the enemy nations.
    ... worshiping the moon.

  5. During our lesson, we read many quotations from Catholic writers about the change of day of rest from Sabbath to Sunday. According to these quotations, please check off, in the following list, all the statements which summarize the position of the Catholic Church:
The Bible does not sanctify Sunday.
Jesus and the apostles were keeping the Sabbath.
The Catholic Church is at the origin of the change of the day of rest.
Sundaykeeping is a mark of the Catholic Church’s authority.

  6. Throughout history, there have always been religious leaders influencing people to disobey the commandments of God. In the book of the prophet Ezekiel, God directs the following reproaches at them: «Her priests have violated My law, and have profaned My holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they showed difference between the unclean and the clean. ...»
«... And they do not perform the sacrificial rituals.»
«... And they have forgotten the feast of the unleavened bread.»
«... And they no longer pay tithe of anise and cummin.»
«... And they have hid their eyes from My sabbaths.»

  7. During His ministry on earth, Jesus met people who would rather keep their tradition than observe the commandments of God. In the Gospel according to Mark, Jesus said to them, «In do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of . For laying aside the commandment of , you hold the of men.»

  8. The book of Ezekiel foretells that in the last days, God will put His mark on the foreheads of the faithful believers firmly rejecting a very specific abomination, committed by people standing «at the door of the temple of the Lord». What is that abomination?
    Sacrificing children to Moloch.
Stealing the offerings dedicated to the Lord.
    Worshiping the sun.
Bringing crippled and sick beasts as an offering to the Lord.

  9. In his letter «Dies Domini», issued on July 5, 1998, Pope John Paul II asks Christians to strive so that a specific civil legislation be passed. What is the subject of this legislation?
    The universal abolition of Communism.
The observance of Sunday as the day of rest.
    The abolition of contraception.
The ban on selling tobacco products to minors.

  10. By refusing to worship the beast and to receive its mark, we will take a stand for God, and our forehead will be marked with the seal of God. In the book of Revelation, Jesus gives us this wonderful promise, «He that , the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not his name out of the Book of Life, but I will his name before My Father, and before His angels.» If we sincerely desire it, Jesus will give us the strength we need to remain faithful to Him, especially when we have to choose between worshiping God and worshiping the beast.
