If I Were Told the Future - Test 79

The Time of Jacob’s Trouble

In order to check your understanding and your progress in the study of the Word of God, we invite you to fill out this short test and return it to us. The correct answers will be sent back to you as soon as possible.

A mark of 70% or better will allow you to submit the test of Lesson 80. Upon the completion of the entire Bible course If I Were Told the Future, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

If I Were Told the Future: Test for Lesson 79

  1. According to the Second Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians, what will be the last and most powerful deception of Satan, the angel of light?
    The tearing of the sky.
    The darkening of the sun.
    The imitation of Jesus’ return.
    A false apparition of Mary.

  2. How will Satan explain to men the coming of the seven last plagues?
It is the fall of Babylon.
Some people don’t observe Sunday as the day of rest.
God wants to purify the world.
It is the close of probation granted to mankind.

  3. According to the book of Revelation, what will the nations, led by the United States, decide to do, to make everyone «worship the image of the beast» and recognize Sunday as the day of rest?
They will pray to God to convince all the «outlaws».
They will kindly try to persuade all the «outlaws».
They will impose minor fines on all the «outlaws».
They will issue a death decree against all the «outlaws».

  4. The book of Esther, reporting the words of Haman to king Ahasuerus, describes a great trial, similar to the one God’s people will experience in the last days because they keep the commandments of God, including the fourth one which requires the observance of the Sabbath: «There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom. And their are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king’s . Therefore it is not for the king’s profit to them. If it please the king, let it be written that they may be

  5. These trials will plunge God’s people into great distress, before the return of Jesus. The book of Jeremiah describes the distress of the faithful believers as «the time of Jacob’s trouble». According to the book of Genesis, what plunged Jacob into great distress and trouble?
The threat of being attacked by Esau and his 400 men.
His incapacity to meet the financial needs of his family.
The outbreak of symptoms of a fatal disease.
The increase of conflicts in his family.

  6. Another event is at the origin of the distress God’s people will experience before the return of Jesus. Indeed, to discourage the faithful believers during the time of Jacob’s trouble, Satan will try to convince them that...
    ... God doesn’t exist.
    ... Jesus won’t return.
... the wicked will kill all the faithful believers.
... some unforgiven sins will deprive them of salvation.

  7. The book of Job perfectly illustrates the time of distress God’s people will go through, before the second coming of Christ. The following scene is presented: «A glided past my face; the hair of my flesh bristled. It stood still, but I could not discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes; there was silence, then I heard a voice, “Can mortals be before God? Can human beings be before their Maker?”»

  8. With the passing centuries, Satan has become an expert in the art of discouraging the believer. But the Bible has an antidote against this poison. The book of Revelation says that the faithful believers overcame «the accuser of our brothers...» (check off all the right answers)
«... by the blood of the Lamb.»
    «... by their personal accomplishments.»
«... by the word of their testimony.»
    «... by their belonging to a Church.»

  9. In preparation for the time of Jacob’s trouble, we must follow the Scriptures’ precious advice, recommending us to do the following things (check off all the right answers):
Confessing each day our sins directly to God.
When possible, putting right the harm done to others.
Letting the Holy Spirit work within us to sanctify us.
Maintaining a close and obedient relationship with God.

  10. Finally, the book of Jeremiah gives us good news concerning the time of distress the people of God will go through, before the return of Jesus Christ: «It is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be out of it. (...) Jacob shall return, and shall be in , and be , and none shall make him
