If I Were Told the Future - Test 83

The Sea Turned to Blood

In order to check your understanding and your progress in the study of the Word of God, we invite you to fill out this short test and return it to us. The correct answers will be sent back to you as soon as possible.

A mark of 70% or better will allow you to submit the test of Lesson 84. Upon the completion of the entire Bible course If I Were Told the Future, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

If I Were Told the Future: Test for Lesson 83

  1. When the second vial of Revelation is poured out, the following plague will strike the world: «And the second angel poured out his vial on the sea; and it became as the of a man; and every living soul in the sea.»

  2. The seven vials of Revelation are a set of divine judgments striking the same targets as the seven trumpets of Revelation. However, the extent of the vials’ impact is far greater than that of the trumpets. Indeed, whereas the second vial strikes the entire sea, the second trumpet struck only...
... a third of the sea.
... a fourth of the sea.
... a fifth of the sea.
... a tenth of the sea.

  3. According to the book of Isaiah, the sea is the lair of a great serpent which symbolizes Satan. What is the name of that serpent?
    Azazel.
    Nehushtan.
    Leviathan.
    The monster of Loch Ness.

  4. The sea, which will be struck by the second vial of Revelation, bears a special symbolism, as we can read in the book of the prophet Isaiah: «“But the are like the troubled sea, when it cannot , whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no ,” said my God, “to the .”»

  5. Many events and prophecies in the Old Testament present divine punishments in which the sea plays a crucial part, in order to chastise impenitent men. Among these events and prophecies, we find the following ones (check off all the right answers):
The waters of the Nile turned into blood, in the days of Moses.
The Red Sea swallowing up the Egyptians, in the days of Moses.
The east wind broking the ships of Tarshish.
The fall of spiritual Babylon, like a millstone thrown into the sea.

  6. The greater negative impact of the second vial of Revelation will be felt...
    ... at the social level.
    ... at the religious level.
    ... at the political level.
    ... at the economic level.

  7. The sea turned to blood will contribute to the fall of Babylon. The reaction of the wicked, faced with this fearsome plague, is reported in the book of Revelation: «And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, “Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made all that had ships in the by reason of her costliness! For in one hour is she made .”»

  8. The books of the prophets Zephaniah and Hosea both use the same picture to illustrate the coming of a worldwide calamity in the last days. What is that picture?
The death of all the insects.
The death of all the birds.
The death of all the fish.
The death of all the beasts.

  9. According to the book of Revelation, what will happen to the sea, after the Last Judgment?
It will be cleansed, and will surround the New Jerusalem.
It will become the lake of fire and brimstone.
It will remain soiled and polluted, here on earth.
    It will disappear forever.

  10. Finally, the book of Revelation shows the following scene: «[The angel] cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the , saying, “Hurt not the earth, neither the , nor the trees, till we have the servants of our God in their foreheads.”» So, before the second vial strikes the sea, let’s accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, and, through the work of the Holy Spirit within us, let’s keep God’s commandments. This is how we will receive the seal of God, and be protected from His wrath.
