The Moment of Truth: Test for Lesson 22

  1. In the Gospel according to Matthew, Jesus answered His disciples' questions about the signs announcing the end of the world. He indicated to them many signs, that we can divide into two great categories: signs in the world, and signs in the world.

  2. The Word of God announced many heavenly phenomena allowing us to see the imminence of the end of the world. Among the following list, check off all the heavenly phenomena that we have seen in this lesson:
    The darkening of the sun.
The sun dancing in the sky.
The moon becoming as red as blood.
    A great star shower.

  3. In the Gospel according to Matthew, Jesus foretold that «there will be famines (...) in various places». Indeed, at the present time, only % of people on earth have enough to eat or even more, % are insufficiently fed, and % are definitely underfed.

  4. Jesus announced, in the Gospel according to Matthew, that «nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom». Since 1945 to nowadays, more than 150 wars have caused the death of more than 25 million people, and there have been only:
    15 days of worldwide peace.
    26 days of worldwide peace.
    63 days of worldwide peace.
    187 days of worldwide peace.

  5. The First Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians foretells what follows, concerning the last days: «For when they say, " and !" then sudden comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. 6. The Epistle of James announces great struggles between employers and employees, by addressing this reproach to the rich: «You have heaped up in the last days. Indeed the of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.»

  7. A portrait of the moral condition of men, just before Jesus' return, is presented in the Second Epistle of Paul to Timothy. This passage contains all the following qualifiers, except:
«lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud».
«blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy».
«spiritual, generous, lovers of Nature, attached to the truth».
    «slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good».

  8. In the Gospel according to Matthew, Jesus compares the condition prevailing in the last days to the condition which was prevailing:
    in Noah's days.
    in Abraham's days.
    in Moses' days.
    in David's days.

  9. The Word of God foretells that in the last days, we will witness a fading in genuine Christian faith. To be more precise, the Second Epistle of Paul to Timothy says: «For the time will come when they will not sound doctrine, but according to their own , because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves ; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to

«all the Churches will be united before God.»
«the kingdom of God is near.»
