The Two Women of Revelation

1. The word «Church» comes from the Greek word «ekklesia», which means . Now, the Acts of the Apostles confirm that there is indeed a Church which belongs to God: «The added to the church daily those who were being .»

2. Many passages in the Bible confirm that the one and only leader of God's Church, the head of the body, is:
   The apostle Peter.
   The Pope.
   The Virgin Mary.
   Jesus Christ.

3. In Bible prophecy, a Church is symbolized by a woman. The description of this woman reflects the spiritual condition of the Church she symbolizes. In the book of Revelation, we find such a symbolic description: «Come, I will show you the judgment of the great (...), having in her hand a golden cup full of and the filthiness of her .» This impure woman thus symbolizes a Church which has turned away from God, and which disobeys Him.

4. The book of Revelation also reports that this impure woman is «sitting on a scarlet beast». What does that mean?
   The Church is experiencing a lightning growth.
   The Church has made a political alliance with the State.
   The Church has launched out into farming.
   The Church always follows its instinct in decision-making.

5. Still in the book of Revelation, we find another woman, which is described as follows: «A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the , with the under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve .» This pure woman symbolizes a Church which remains faithful to God, and which obeys Him.

6. The book of Revelation reports that Satan persecuted the pure woman for 1260 years, and then «went to make war with the rest of her offspring». According to this same passage, what are the characteristics of the people who belong to the rest of the woman's offspring? (Check off all the right answers.)
   «They perform signs and miracles.»
   «They keep the commandments of God.»

7. In the book of the prophet Isaiah, God announces what His Church, the remnant Church, will do in the last days: «Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many .» The rest of the passage immediately identifies the foundations which shall be raised up by God's people: «If you turn away your foot from the , from doing your pleasure on My holy , (...) I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father.»

8. Revelation chapter 14 presents the triple message which the remnant Church must proclaim throughout the world. This triple message contains all the following elements, except one. Which one?
