The Moment of Truth - Test 24

All About Christ’s Return

In order to check your understanding and your progress in the study of the Word of God, we invite you to fill out this short test and return it to us. The correct answers will be sent back to you as soon as possible.

A mark of 70% or better will allow you to submit the test of Lesson 25. Upon the completion of the entire Bible course The Moment of Truth, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

The Moment of Truth: Test for Lesson 24

  1. In the Epistle to the Hebrews, we find a good summary of the purposes of Jesus’ first and second coming: «So Christ was once to bear the of many. And to them that look for Him shall He appear the time, without sin, to

  2. In the Gospel according to Matthew, Jesus told His disciples about the time of His return. According to Jesus’ words, who knows the day and hour of His return? (Check off all the right answers.)
    The Father.
    The Son.
    The angels.
    A few initiates here below.

  3. In his Second Epistle, the apostle Peter foretells what people will say in the last days concerning the return of Christ: «Where is the of His ? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things as they were from the beginning of the creation.» Of course, such an incredulity does not bring people to seriously prepare themselves for Jesus’ return...

  4. The Gospel according to Luke reports these words from Jesus, «Behold the fig tree, and all the trees. When they now shoot forth, you see and know of your own selves that summer is now near at hand. So likewise you, when you see these things come to , know you that the of God is at hand.» So, without knowing the day and hour of Jesus’ return, we can recognize the signs of the times announcing the imminence of this glorious day.

  5. During our lesson, we have studied many passages in the Scriptures about the way Jesus will return. All the following statements answer the question «How will Jesus return?», except one. Which one?
Jesus will return in the flesh.
His return will be glorious, noisy, and spectacular.
His return will be universally visible.
His return will be secret and imperceptible.

  6. In the Gospel according to Luke, Jesus gives us this precious piece of advice, «And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and of this life, and so that Day come on you . For as a shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.» Christ’s return will therefore be an unexpected and sudden event.

  7. The Bible tells us that when He returns, Jesus will reward each one according to his works. Now, according to the Epistle of Paul to the Romans, what will be the reward of «them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness»?
«Eternal life, because God is Love.»
    «A second chance to repent.»
    «Indignation and wrath.»
    «Eternal sufferings in hell.»

  8. On the other hand, the apostle Paul, in his Second Epistle to Timothy, describes a part of the reward granted to God’s people: «From now on there is laid up for me a of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall me at that Day: and not to me only, but to all them also that love His

  9. Through the parable of the pounds, Jesus wanted to give a special message to those who are waiting for His second coming. This message could be summarized in a single word, that is:
    Pray!
    Wait!
    Work!
    Hope!

  10. Finally, the apostle Peter, in his Second Epistle, wrote these thoughtful words of advice, «Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all conversation and , looking for and hastening to the of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?»
