According to the Word of God, which event will take place before the beginning of the 1000 years (also commonly called the «millennium» ) described in the book of Revelation ?
The return of Jesus Christ.
The Last Judgment.
The destruction of Satan and his angels.
The creation of the New Earth.
In many places, the Word of God plainly teaches that there will be two resurrections. Which ones? (Check off all the right answers.)
The resurrection of the righteous, at the time of Jesus’ return.
The resurrection of the wicked, at the time of Jesus’ return.
The resurrection of the righteous, after the millennium.
The resurrection of the wicked, after the millennium.
The First Epistle of Paul to the Corinthians describes another event which will take place before the beginning of the millennium: «The trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be incorruptible, and we shall be . For this must put on incorruption, and this must put on immortality.»
According to the Second Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians , what will happen to «them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ» , at the time of Jesus’ return?
They will receive eternal life, because God is Love.
They will be granted a second chance to repent.
They will be consumed by the brightness of Jesus’ coming.
They will suffer forever and ever in hell.
The book of the prophet Jeremiah describes the conditions which will prevail on earth during the millennium: «I beheld the earth, and, see, it was without , and void; and the heavens, and they had no . I beheld the mountains, and, see, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, see, there was no , and all the of the heavens were fled.»
The book of Revelation states that during the millennium, Satan will be «bound». Now, the book of Isaiah explains what that means: «Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land ; and He shall the thereof out of it.» Satan will therefore be «bound», since he will no longer be able to deceive people on earth during the millennium.
The book of Revelation also teaches us what the saints will be doing during the millennium: «And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, ...»
«... and teaching the nations was given to them.»
«... and judgment was given to them.»
«... and forgiveness of sins was given to them.»
«... and government over the wicked was given to them.»
At the end of the millennium, the wicked will be resurrected, and Satan will deceive them once again. The book of Ezekiel clearly explains what Satan is planning to do: «I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at , that dwell , all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither nor .» Satan’s goal will be to invade New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven.
The prophecy of Ezekiel , quoted in the previous question, describes how Satan will lead the nations to besiege New Jerusalem. In its chapter about the millennium, the book of Revelation refers to that prophecy by mentioning two geographic places. What are these two places?
Tyre and Sidon.
Gog and Magog.
Sodom and Gomorrah.
Babylon and Niniveh.
Finally, before describing the eternal dwelling of God’s people, that is, New Jerusalem, the book of Revelation reports the punishment of those who will have rejected God’s offer of salvation: «And whoever was not found in the Book of was cast into the lake of fire. (...) [They] shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second .»
