The Moment of Truth - Test 27

New Heavens, New Earth

In order to check your understanding and your progress in the study of the Word of God, we invite you to fill out this short test and return it to us. The correct answers will be sent back to you as soon as possible.

A mark of 70% or better will allow you to submit the test of Lesson 28. Upon the completion of the entire Bible course The Moment of Truth, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

The Moment of Truth: Test for Lesson 27

  1. According to the Epistle to the Hebrews, Abraham knew that the real Promised Land was more than a piece of land in Canaan. «By faith [Abraham] sojourned in the land of promise, as in a country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise. For he looked for a which has foundations, whose and is God.»

  2. According to the Second Epistle of Peter and the book of Revelation, where will God’s people dwell forever?
On the Earth, slightly improved by God.
    On a New Earth.
    On the clouds of Heaven.
The Word of God does not say.

  3. The prophet Isaiah describes the conditions which will prevail in the Kingdom of God: «The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. For the terrible one is brought to nothing, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity...»
«... are suffering forever and ever in hell.»
    «... are forgiven.»
«... are getting a second chance to repent.»
    «... are cut off.»

  4. The book of Revelation tells us what God will do for His people, before the inauguration of the New Jerusalem: «And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more , neither , nor , neither shall there be any more : for the former things are passed away.»

  5. The prophet Isaiah reports God’s words about His Kingdom: «They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain.» Then, the book of Isaiah explains why it will be so:
«For the Lord shall prevent men from committing evil.»
«For Satan shall draw a lesson from his failure, and shall obey God.»
«For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord.»
«For no man shall reach the Lord’s holy mountain.»

  6. Still describing the living conditions in the New Jerusalem, the book of Revelation gives this wonderful promise to the people of God: «[God] will with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall with them, and be their God. (...) His servants shall serve Him: and they shall see His

  7. The Gospel according to John tells us that Jesus, once risen and glorified, was not immediately recognized by Mary. When did she recognize Him?
When He clasped her in His arms.
When He made a sign to her.
    When He performed a miracle.
    When He spoke to her.
We thus understand that God’s redeemed people, although made incorruptible and immortal, will be able to recognize each other on the New Earth.

  8. In order to dispel our desire to spend eternity with God, Satan tries to make us believe that the elect will be like floating spirits, playing harps on the clouds... But the truth is shown by these words from Jesus after His resurrection, reported in the Gospel according to Luke: «Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me, and see; for a has not and , as you see Me have.»

  9. Still describing the City of God, the New Jerusalem, the book of Revelation says that something special will be placed «in the middle of the street of it, and on either side of the river». What is that thing?
    The tree of life.
The tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
    The temple of God.
The throne of God and of the Lamb.

  10. Finally, the book of Revelation indicates how to reserve one’s place in the New Jerusalem: «[They] washed their robes and made them in the blood of the . Therefore are they before the of God.» To wash one’s robe in the blood of the Lamb means to accept the sacrifice of Jesus, the Lamb of God, for the forgiveness of our sins and the purification of our heart, and then to follow Him until the end.
