The Moment of Truth - Test 28

When God’s Finger Writes

In order to check your understanding and your progress in the study of the Word of God, we invite you to fill out this short test and return it to us. The correct answers will be sent back to you as soon as possible.

A mark of 70% or better will allow you to submit the test of Lesson 29. Upon the completion of the entire Bible course The Moment of Truth, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

The Moment of Truth: Test for Lesson 28

  1. From the very beginning of the Bible, we see God giving these instructions to man, «Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat. But of the tree of the knowledge of and , you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely The aim of these laws was not to oppress man, but rather to show him the only way to happiness.

  2. Still in the book of Genesis, we have seen the role of God’s commandments in the life of Abraham. Which one of the following statements is true?
Abraham was unaware of the existence of God’s commandments.
Abraham didn’t submit to God’s commandments.
Abraham obeyed a few of God’s commandments.
    Abraham obeyed all God’s commandments.

  3. The Ten Commandments are of such a great importance in the eyes of God that the book of Exodus specifies the following point: «And the tables were the of God, and the writing was the of God, graven on the tables.» This is some important food for thought...

  4. The second Commandment strictly forbids any and all forms of idolatry. Among the following list, check off everything that can become an idol, that is, something taking priority over God in our life:
    Work.
    Money.
    Family and friends.
    Leisure activities.

  5. The third Commandment orders not to take the name of the Lord our God in vain. Now, the Epistle of Paul to the Romans widens the import of this commandment: «You that make your boast of the law, through the law you God? For the name of God is among the Gentiles through you.»

  6. In the fourth Commandment, God asks us to remember the seventh day, the Sabbath, to keep it holy by doing no secular work on that day. The text indicates that by keeping that commandment, we recognize that God is our:
    Judge.
    Legislator.
    Creator.
    Shepherd.

  7. The sixth Commandment says, «You shall not kill.» This commandment forbids more than murder, as we can see in the First Epistle of John: «Whoever his brother is a : and you know that no has eternal life abiding in him.»

  8. The first four Commandments summarize our duty towards God, and the last six, our duty towards our neighbor. The First Epistle of John summarizes that point, by saying that «this is the love of God, that we...»
«... teach that His commandments have been abolished.»
«... may replace His commandments by the tradition of men.»
«... teach that His commandments are for the Jews only.»
    «... keep His commandments.»

  9. To those who would like to adapt the text of God’s Ten Commandments to the customs of society, the book of Deuteronomy answers, «You shall not to the word which I command you, neither shall you ought from it, that you may the commandments of the Lord your God which I you.»

  10. The book of Ecclesiastes ended our lesson with the following advice, «Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty...»
    «... of man.»
«... of him who is under the Old Covenant.»
    «... of the Jew.»
«... of him who does not have a Savior.»
