The Moment of Truth - Test 32

A Day to Remember

In order to check your understanding and your progress in the study of the Word of God, we invite you to fill out this short test and return it to us. The correct answers will be sent back to you as soon as possible.

A mark of 70% or better will allow you to submit the test of Lesson 33. Upon the completion of the entire Bible course The Moment of Truth, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

The Moment of Truth: Test for Lesson 32

  1. The Gospel according to Matthew reports Jesus’ position on the validity of each one of God’s Ten Commandments: «Whoever therefore shall one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever shall and teach them, the same shall be called in the kingdom of heaven.»

  2. According to the Word of God, when was the seventh day instituted as the day of rest?
    At Creation.
In the days of Noah, after the Flood.
In the days of Moses, at the first Passover.
In the days of Moses, at the promulgation of the Law on Mount Sinai.

  3. The Scriptures say that God blessed the seventh day, the Sabbath. This is important information, since the First Book of the Chronicles states, «For You bless, O Lord, and it shall be blessed Likewise, the book of Ecclesiastes adds, «I know that, whatever God does, it shall be . Nothing can be put to it, nor any thing from it.»

  4. Among the people listed below, please check off all those who have kept the seventh day, the Sabbath, as the day of rest:
Jesus, during His ministry here on earth.
    The apostles, before Jesus’ crucifixion.
    The apostles, after Jesus’ resurrection.
Paul and Barnabas, visiting the Greeks of Antioch.

  5. According to the book of the prophet Isaiah, will the Sabbath still be kept on the New Earth?
    Yes.
    No.

  6. To those who claim that the Sabbath has been given only for the Jews, God answers, in the book of Isaiah, «Also the sons of the , that join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants, that keeps the from polluting it, and takes hold of My covenant; even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted on My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all

  7. The book of the prophet Ezekiel tells us that God has also another goal by giving us the seventh day, the Sabbath, as the day of rest: «Hallow My Sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that...»
«... you are saved by keeping the law.»
«... you are Jews according to the flesh.»
«... you are under the Old Covenant.»
    «... I am the Lord your God.»

  8. The book of Leviticus explains how we must keep the Sabbath: «From to , shall you celebrate your Sabbath.» Thus, the Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday night and ends at sunset on Saturday night.

  9. God wants us to put aside our everyday work and the cares of this life on the Sabbath. However, this doesn’t mean that we should sleep all day long. Indeed, in the Gospel according to Matthew, Jesus says, «It is lawful to do on the days.»

  10. In the book of the prophet Isaiah, God gives us this wonderful promise: «If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your on My holy day; and call the Sabbath a , the holy of the Lord, honorable; and shall honor Him, not doing your own , nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own : then shall you delight yourself in the Lord. And I will cause you to ride on the high places of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father.»
